Job summary

Thornton Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Project Manager to oversee multi-disciplinary projects from preconstruction through closeout. You will manage budgets, schedules and risk, coordinating owners, architects, subcontractors and vendors to meet performance targets.

The role requires leading a team, maintaining documentation, and ensuring safety and quality standards while delivering projects on plan and on budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering or applicable discipline plus a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
• Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite.
• Must have understanding of construction terms, estimating, purchasing, scheduling and planning concepts.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
• Proven written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate project resources to meet budget and schedule objectives.
• Prepare startup budget and project milestones, track progress and report to management.
• Manage change orders, subcontracts and large vendor contracts.
• Maintain project logs, documentation and compliance with safety/quality standards.
• Interface with clients, architects, subcontractors and Thornton team members to resolve issues.
