Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Project Manager to lead planning, management, procurement, scheduling, and execution for assigned construction projects. This role ensures profitability, quality, and safety while exceeding owner expectations and delivering predictable outcomes.

You will prepare PMP, lead pre-award and pre-construction meetings, assist in estimates and budgets, and negotiate change orders. Strong leadership and communication are essential for success on commercial, multifamily,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience on commercial, multifamily, and/or light industrial construction projects.
• Understanding of estimating concepts, bid verification, market rates, and change orders.
• Knowledge of building codes, plans, blueprints, and specifications.
• Strong teamwork, delegation, and leadership abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written presentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project team in preparing the project management plan (PMP) and organize pre-award and pre-construction meetings.
• Assist in estimating for the project and prepare the project budget.
• Negotiate owner and subcontractor change orders and manage related cost and profit impacts.
• Develop the monthly client pay requests and coordinate with cost accounting for payments and lien releases.
• Manage all final close-out procedures including as-built drawings and project completion letters.
• Maintain client relationships and lead project meetings with the client.
