A well-established commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their San Antonio team. This is a local opportunity for a Project Manager with a strong track record managing Class A office construction projects and the professionalism needed to build strong relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through final completion and closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, buyout plans, and overall project execution strategies.
- Manage contracts, subcontracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, pay applications, and project documentation.
- Coordinate closely with the Superintendent and field team to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
- Review plans, specifications, scopes of work, and contract documents.
- Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and internal team members.
- Identify and resolve project issues proactively while maintaining schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
- Manage subcontractor performance, procurement, and project coordination.
- Maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee project closeout, punch list, turnover, and final documentation.
- Help ensure a high level of client satisfaction and position the company for repeat business.
Qualifications
- Extensive commercial construction experience with Class A office projects is required.
- Currently working for a commercial general contractor.
- Proven experience managing complex commercial projects from preconstruction through completion.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction processes, contracts, scheduling, budgeting, and project controls.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple subcontractors and project stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional presence and ability to interact effectively with owners, architects, and clients.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proven history of successfully delivering projects on schedule, within budget, and to a high standard of quality.
Location Requirement
- Must currently live in the San Antonio, TX market.
- Local candidates only — this position is not open to travelers or candidates requiring relocation.
- Must have established experience working on commercial construction projects in the San Antonio market.
