Job summary

HITT Contracting Inc is seeking an Commercial Construction Assistant Project Manager for government projects in the Washington, DC area. The role supports the project team in budgeting, scheduling, documentation, and coordination with subcontractors to deliver on-time, on-budget construction.

You will work closely with project superintendents and site teams, uphold safety standards, prepare RFP packages, and help manage pay applications while advancing project milestones and quality control.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma; four-year degree strongly preferred in construction, engineering, or business.
• 2–5 years’ experience in commercial construction; experience with a commercial general contractor.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills; ability to document and present information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Maintain adherence to safety standards.
• Ensure documentation is filed and organized.
• Assist in budget creation and management for assigned projects.
• Develop pre-construction RFP packages.
• Assist in conducting project meetings and reporting milestones.
• Set up job processes (RFIs, submittals, pay applications) and approve/pay change orders.
• Update schedules and manage project logistics.
• Assist in closeout activities and collaborate with site teams.
