West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce is seeking a Construction Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects on-site in the Midwest, from initiation to closeout. You will drive schedules, budgets, safety, and stakeholder coordination to ensure timely, high-quality results.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in construction-related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in commercial construction.
  • Experience with healthcare projects preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all phases of commercial construction projects, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate detailed project schedules, tracking progress and adjusting plans as necessary to meet deadlines
  • Prepare comprehensive project budgets, monitor expenses, and manage profit projections to ensure the financial health of each project
  • Coordinate and review bid documents, solicit and evaluate subcontractor proposals, and negotiate subcontractor agreements to secure competitive pricing and high-quality work
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction activities, enforce safety protocols, and ensure compliance with building codes, OSHA standards, and other regulatory requirements
  • Lead and facilitate project meetings with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to discuss progress, resolve issues, and ensure alignment on project goals
  • Oversee design development activities, collaborating with architects, engineers, and design teams to ensure plans align with project specifications and client expectations
  • Manage and track project documentation, including contracts, RFIs, change orders, and progress reports, ensuring completeness and accuracy

What You Will Need to Be Successful:
  • Bachelor's degree in construction engineering, management, or a related field

  • Additional certifications such as PMP, OSHA, or LEED accreditation
  • Experience with design-build projects
  • Knowledge of current building codes and safety regulations
