Construction Project Manager Connecticut Salary: $130,000 – $170,000+ DOE

A well-established, employee-owned construction management and general contracting firm is looking to add an experienced Project Manager to its Connecticut team.

The company has a strong reputation for delivering complex commercial, healthcare, higher education, institutional, municipal, and community-focused projects throughout Connecticut and the surrounding region. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take ownership of projects from preconstruction through closeout while working alongside experienced field and preconstruction teams.

The Role As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the overall financial, contractual, scheduling, and administrative management of assigned construction projects.

You will work closely with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, superintendents, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to a high standard of quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout
• Take ownership of project budgets, schedules, contracts, and financial performance
• Lead communication between owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and project teams
• Review and manage subcontractor agreements, scopes, change orders, and pay applications
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change management, and project documentation
• Coordinate closely with the Superintendent and field team on project execution
• Participate in preconstruction, estimating, constructability reviews, and value engineering
• Develop and maintain project schedules in coordination with the project team
• Monitor project costs, commitments, forecasts, and overall financial performance
• Identify potential project risks and develop solutions before they impact cost or schedule
• Lead project meetings and maintain strong relationships with clients and design partners
• Support procurement and subcontractor buyout activities
• Ensure project documentation and closeout requirements are completed accurately
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, communication, and client satisfaction

Project Experience

Requirements

• 5+ years of construction project management experience
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred
• Strong understanding of construction processes, contracts, scheduling, and project financials
• Experience managing subcontractors and project stakeholders
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and project requirements
• Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore and Microsoft Office
• Strong understanding of project cost control and change management
• Ability to work collaboratively with field and office teams
