Job summary

Pop-Up Talent is seeking an experienced project manager for our San Francisco Bay Area construction portfolio. You will oversee budgets, schedules, and client expectations, coordinating subcontractors to deliver high-quality environments.

The role requires at least five years in construction, a four-year degree, and strong leadership and communication. You will collaborate with executives on negotiation skills and drive project closeouts with rigor.

Qualifications

• Five+ years in construction or related field.
• A four-year college degree is required.
• Active involvement in industry associations is preferred.

• Proficiency with basic computer software.

Responsibilities

• Perform at all project management levels; No task is too big or too small.
• Forecast revenue, profitability and project costs accurately.
• Manage day-to-day client expectations on budget and schedule.
• Estimate, bid subcontractors and buy out projects effectively.
• Collaborate with the project superintendent to maintain the project schedule.
• Oversee submittals, RFIs, Change Orders and related processes.
• Coordinate with architects/engineers to ensure specs and regulations are met.
• Identify scope changes and manage COs and schedule delays.
• Manage invoicing and project financial performance toward revenue goals.
• Support executives to refine interview and negotiation processes.
• Lead efficient, productive owner–architect–contractor (OAC) meetings.
• Plan, implement and manage closeout and turnover of projects.
• Assess risks and ensure site safety communications between supervision and safety staff.

• We are seeking an experienced project manager to join our growing team of passionate, purpose-driven builders. As a project manager, you'll manage a diverse set of construction jobs that will require a thorough attention to detail, test your problem-solving skills and push you to grow as a leader

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform at all project management levels; No task is too big or too small
• Accurately forecast revenue, profitability and project costs
• Manage day-to-day client expectations on budget and schedule
• Estimate, level (Subcontractor bids) and buy out projects effectively
• Work with the project superintendent to create, manage, and maintain the project schedule
• Manage the multiple processes (submittals, RFI's, Change Orders, etc) that make up a project
• Provide direction to a PC or PE to assist with the above
• Oversee performance of all trade contractors and review architectural and engineering drawings to ensure all specifications and regulations are being followed
• Proactively identify changes in project scope and ensure appropriate measures are taken (CO's and/or Schedule delays)
• Manage financial performance of projects (Invoicing, Change Orders, etc.) and consistently achieve revenue goals
• Work with executives to constantly hone interview and negotiation skills
• Run effective, smooth and productive OAC meetings
• Plan, implement, track and manage the closeout / turnover of construction projects.
• Assess risk, monitor site safety and ensure proper communication between Superintendent and Safety Manager

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 5 years in construction
• At least 4-yr college degree
• Industry association involvement & participation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• The ability and desire to lead a team by example
• The confidence and grit to make decisions under pressure and solve problems on the fly
• The social intelligence to gracefully manage and resolve disputes
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Proficiency at basic computer software
