Construction Project Manager – Commercial Builds (Indianapolis, IN)

About the Role:

We’re representing a respected commercial builder headquartered in Central Indiana that’s looking to add a Project Manager to their growing team. This firm manages complex, large-scale commercial projects with the agility of a local contractor and the support of a national organization.

As Project Manager, you’ll take ownership of high-visibility projects from preconstruction through closeout while mentoring emerging talent and collaborating with field teams, design partners, and clients. What You’ll Be Doing:

• Lead the full lifecycle of commercial projects (typically $15M+)
• Collaborate with preconstruction on budgets, buyout strategy, and logistics
• Oversee subcontractor coordination, site operations, and scheduling
• Ensure adherence to safety standards, timelines, and quality benchmarks
• Monitor financial performance and reporting throughout project phases
• Manage client relationships from kickoff through closeout
• Mentor and guide Assistant PMs, Engineers, and field staff
• Foster collaboration across departments and trade partners
• Reinforce a culture centered on safety, accountability, and excellence
• Participate in client meetings, site walks, and interviews
• Contribute to proposals and project presentations
• Support business development through relationship-building and market awareness

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred
• 5+ years of experience in commercial construction project management
• Experience in one or more of the following sectors: education, healthcare, industrial, or manufacturing
• Proficient in project documentation, scheduling, and communication
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and build strong client partnerships
