Job summary

A Charlottesville-based construction team is seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead projects from kickoff through closeout. You will ensure safety, schedule, and budget adherence while building strong relationships with owners and GCs.

Roles include coordinating with operations, estimating, and field supervision, plus mentoring junior engineers and assistants. This position requires hands-on site presence and strong contract management.

Qualifications

• Strong grasp of contract compliance and construction documentation.
• Willingness to split time between the office and active job sites.
• Comfort working around equipment, weather, and PPE requirements.
• Collaborative, communicative approach across nearly every part of the business.

Responsibilities

• Full project lifecycle management — from scope review and handoff through final completion.
• Budgets, cost codes, purchase orders, subcontracts, and change order pricing/negotiation.
• Submittals, RFIs, and project scheduling (with regular client updates).
• Payment applications, invoicing, and cost-to-complete forecasting.
• Field process oversight — two-week look aheads, daily huddles, safety compliance.
• Coordinating closely with Operations, Estimating, and field superintendents.
• Mentoring and evaluating Field Engineers, Project Engineers, and Assistant PMs.
