Job summary

ProspectBlue is helping a well-established construction company in the Charlottesville area find their next Project Manager to lead projects from kickoff through closeout. This role blends office planning with active field work to keep projects safe, on schedule, and on budget while building strong relationships with owners and GCs.

You will own the full lifecycle, including scope reviews, budgets, subcontracts, submittals, RFIs, scheduling, invoicing, and cost-to-complete forecasting, with

• Strong grasp of contract compliance and construction documentation.
• Comfort splitting time between the office and active job sites.
• Willingness to work around equipment, weather, and standard PPE requirements.
• A collaborative, communicative approach — this role touches nearly every part of the business.

Responsibilities

• Full project lifecycle management — from scope review and handoff through final completion
• Budgets, cost codes, purchase orders, subcontracts, and change order pricing/negotiation
• Submittals, RFIs, and project scheduling (with regular client updates)
• Payment applications, invoicing, and cost-to-complete forecasting
• Field process oversight — two-week look-aheads, daily huddles, safety compliance
• Coordinating closely with Operations, Estimating, and field superintendents
• Mentoring and evaluating Field Engineers, Project Engineers, and Assistant PMs
