Job summary

ColonialWebb in Charlottesville, VA seeks an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead complex mechanical building projects onsite. You will manage budgets, schedules, quality and client satisfaction while bringing buildings to life.

The role requires hands-on leadership across multiple projects, bid reviews, procurement, and coordination of subcontractors, field teams, and stakeholders. OSHA 30 and PM experience preferred, PMP a plus.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of commercial/industrial project management experience.
  • Hands-on management of mechanical projects across multiple projects.
  • Ability to manage material and labor flow for large projects lasting a year or more.
  • Recent PM experience for a mechanical contractor/subcontractor.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification and knowledge of OSHA safety regulations.
  • Proficient with current technology (laptop, tablet, smartphone, Teams).
  • Strong diplomatic and effective customer interaction.
  • Problem-solving and foresight for sound business decisions.
  • PMP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of mechanical construction projects including budget, schedule, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in bid reviews and assess project risks for go/no-go decisions.
  • Manage project setup, buyout activities, and procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, field teams, and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
  • Lead WIP reviews, maintain project financial forecasts, and provide cost/status updates.
  • Serve as the primary customer contact, communicating schedule and budget updates.
  • Support payroll approval, permitting, and project administration activities.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by participating in safety meetings and initiatives.
  • Review project documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure quality installation and timely completion.

A Day In The Life

You Should Have
  • A minimum of five years of commercial/industrial project management experience
  • Experience with hands-on management of mechanical projects, ideal experience working across several projects
  • Ability to manage continuous flow of material and labor for large projects lasting a year or more
  • Recent experience as PM for a mechanical contractor/subcontractor. (Not Owner’s Agent or Consultant or GC)
  • OSHA 30-hour certification and knowledge of OSHA safety regulations
  • Ability to use current technology (i.e., laptop computer, tablet, smartphone, Microsoft Teams)
  • Ability to deal diplomatically and effectively with internal and external customers
  • Ability to demonstrate foresight and problem-solving skills to make sound business decisions
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) preferred
