Job summary

LHH is partnering with a mission-driven healthcare organization in Marin County, CA to identify a hands-on Project Manager for a major facilities expansion and office consolidation. You will lead planning, budgeting, vendor coordination and construction oversight from concept through occupancy on a contract basis.

  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience in commercial construction, tenant improvements, healthcare facilities, or capital projects.
  • Experience coordinating architects, contractors, engineers, landlords, vendors, and multiple internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead facilities and capital projects from planning and design through construction, relocation, occupancy and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, milestones, risk logs and status reports.
  • Coordinate architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, landlords, vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Partner with executive leadership, finance, procurement, facilities and operations to ensure project success.
  • Manage budgets, contracts, invoices, change orders, forecasts and vendor performance.
  • Oversee construction activities, site visits and contractor meetings; document progress.
  • Coordinate permitting, inspections, approvals and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop relocation and facility activation plans to support operational readiness.
  • Identify risks and implement mitigation to maintain scope, budget and schedule.
  • Support additional facilities and space planning initiatives as needed.

Job description

LHH is partnering with a mission-driven healthcare organization in Marin County, CA to identify a Project Manager to support a large-scale facilities expansion, office consolidation, and capital improvement initiatives.

This is a highly visible contract opportunity working closely with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders on a major facilities project. The selected individual will lead planning, budgeting, vendor coordination, construction oversight, relocation efforts, and project execution from concept through occupancy. The organization is experiencing growth and is investing in facilities and infrastructure projects that will support its long-term operational goals. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while leading complex, high-priority initiatives.

The ideal candidate is an experienced project leader who can independently manage large, multi-stakeholder facilities or construction projects with minimal oversight. They are skilled at building project plans, managing budgets and timelines, coordinating vendors, and communicating effectively with executive leadership. This person excels at identifying risks before they become problems and driving projects forward through strong organization and accountability. Experience supporting commercial construction, tenant improvements, healthcare facilities, capital projects, or major office relocations is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support additional facilities and space planning initiatives as organizational needs evolve

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Facilities Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required; equivalent experience may be considered
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience supporting commercial construction, tenant improvements, healthcare facilities, capital projects, or major office relocations required
  • Experience coordinating architects, contractors, engineers, landlords, consultants, vendors, permitting agencies, and multiple internal stakeholders required
  • Strong experience managing project budgets, schedules, contracts, invoices, change orders, and cost forecasts required
  • Proven ability to independently lead complex projects and manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Strong communication, organization, negotiation, and problem-solving skills required
  • Proficiency with project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Ability to travel regularly between project sites throughout Marin County required
  • Experience supporting healthcare facilities, medical clinics, or regulated environments preferred
  • PMP, CCM, LEED, architecture, engineering, or related professional certifications preferred

Job Type: Contract (anticipated duration of at least one year)

Start Date: September preferred; October considered for the right candidate

Location: Fully onsite in Novato, CA, with travel to project sites throughout Marin County

Hours: Monday-Friday, generally 8:00 AM-5:00 PM with flexibility as needed

Pay Rate: $70-$83/hour, depending on experience
