Commercial Interiors / Office Build-Out Construction

Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to support the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial office build-out and tenant improvement projects. This role serves as a key liaison between project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, architects, and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting commercial interior construction projects, including corporate office renovations, workplace build-outs, lobby renovations, conference center upgrades, and occupied-space tenant improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Project Managers and Superintendents throughout all phases of construction.
- Manage Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, shop drawings, and project documentation.
- Maintain project logs, schedules, meeting minutes, and document control systems.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Assist with project budgeting, forecasting, change order management, and cost tracking.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and scope documents for completeness and constructability.
- Participate in owner, architect, and contractor meetings and provide follow-up documentation.
- Conduct site visits and field walks to monitor construction progress and quality.
- Support project closeout activities, including punch lists, turnover documentation, warranties, and as-built drawings.
- Ensure compliance with company safety standards and project-specific requirements.
- Assist with procurement activities and subcontractor buyout processes.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field.
- 1-5 years of Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, or construction coordination experience.
- Experience supporting commercial construction, interiors, tenant improvements, or office renovations.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred
- Experience with commercial office build-outs ranging from $500K to $20M+.
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar software.
- Exposure to occupied renovations and phased construction environments.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
