Job summary

Optimum in Georgetown, TX is seeking a Construction Operations Lead to oversee the development, implementation, and documentation of new cable construction projects. You will coordinate pre-fielding, planning, scheduling, and supervise subcontractor and in-house crews to meet safety and quality standards.

The role requires a minimum of five years of construction experience, plus leadership experience and knowledge of CATV plant design.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of all cable system construction phases.
• Knowledge of CATV Plant Design.
• Minimum 5 years construction experience.
• Minimum 2 years MDU design/build experience.
• Minimum 3 years manager/supervisor experience.
• Knowledge of applicable safety regulations.
• Planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to read construction plans, analyze data and prepare paperwork.
• Ability to explain and comprehend detailed information and instruction.
• Good data entry and math skills.
• Vision, dexterity and lifting requirements relevant to field work.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and plan construction with departments, utilities, builders and authorities.
• Direct construction activities of subcontractors and in-house crews for MDU and plant projects.
• Administer site quality inspections and ensure codes compliance.
• Supervise staff, estimate workloads, set priorities.
• Measure performance, provide feedback, mentor staff.
• Issue projects to subcontractors after evaluating schedules and capabilities.
• Modify designs and construction plans when problems arise.
• Compile progress reports and track vendor deliveries.
• Provide a safe work environment through training and enforcement of safety rules.
• Represent the company with owners, management and municipalities.
• Communicate effectively in person and by phone.
• May obtain permits as needed.
• Suggest process improvements and budget considerations.
