Job summary

Optimum is seeking a proactive Construction Supervisor in Eureka, CA to coordinate development, implementation, construction and documentation of new cable projects. You will oversee pre-fielding, planning, scheduling and lead both subcontractor and in-house teams to meet safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of all phases of cable system construction.
• Knowledge of CATV Plant Design.
• Minimum of five years construction experience.
• Minimum of two years' experience with MDU design and builds.
• Minimum of three years' manager / supervisor experience preferred.
• Knowledge of applicable safety regulations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to read construction plans, analyze data and prepare paperwork and documents.
• Ability to explain and comprehend detailed information and instruction.
• Good data entry and math skills.
• Vision ability: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus; differentiate sizes and colors of wires.
• Hand and finger dexterity.
• Ability to carry and use tools and equipment as necessary.
• Ability to work standing 50-70% of the time.
• Ability to work in confined spaces such as crawlspaces and attics.
• Ability to climb ladders/ poles.
• Must possess valid driver's license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and plan construction with departments and authorities to ensure timely completion.
• Direct construction crews including MDU and plant projects.
• Administer site quality inspections and ensure compliance with codes.
• Supervise employees, estimate workloads, and manage priorities.
• Monitor progress, expenditures, overtime, and inventory.
• Provide safety training and enforce rules and regulations.
• Represent the company with owners and municipalities in contract issues.
• Obtain permits as needed.
• Suggest improvements to methods, budget, and equipment usage.
