Job summary

Facilities Contracting, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to manage construction administrative tasks, including tracking materials, lead times, and submittals to keep field teams supplied on schedule.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent administrative experience required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Procore and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Ability to work with multiple teams and groups.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PDF document management.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with project teams, subcontractors, and external consultants.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and support responsibilities beyond scope.

Responsibilities

  • Review subcontractor submittals for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with project drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Coordinate submittal preparation, review, revisions, and formal submission to the design team.
  • Maintain a submittal log with current status, responsible parties, and required return dates and track procurement information alongside Project managers and Superintendents.
  • Track outstanding, rejected, and revise-and-submittal items and ensure timely resolution.
  • Identify potential material procurement or schedule impacts associated with delayed approvals.
  • Maintain organized, accurate, and up-to-date project files, logs, and document registers.
  • Distribute current drawings, specifications, addenda, and approved submittals to the appropriate project team members.
  • Maintain accurate records of approvals, changes, and project communications.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Communicate expectations, follow up on incomplete items, and elevate unresolved issues.
  • Coordinate with project management to support subcontractor onboarding and ongoing project compliance.
  • Assist with procurement tracking, and material lead times.
  • Assist with quality control documentation, inspections, punch lists, and project closeout.
  • Maintain awareness of project milestones and proactively communicate issues that may affect schedule, cost, or quality.
