Job summary

C Cherokee Federal is seeking a Construction Project Engineer to support development and updates of project schedules, identify potential delays, and coordinate recovery actions. You will review drawings, specifications, and contracts, and coordinate with owners, designers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure scope and timelines are met.

The role involves site inspections, cost control tasks, and close collaboration with field teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Coursework or demonstrated knowledge in construction methods, construction documents, scheduling, estimating, project controls, building codes, and safety.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, contracts, and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Participate in owner, design, subcontractor, and internal project meetings; communicate action items and follow up on commitments.
  • Coordinate submittals, shop drawings, material data, samples, and approvals with architects, engineers, owners, and subcontractors.
  • Track procurement and delivery of materials, equipment, and long-lead items.
  • Conduct or support site inspections to verify work quality, code compliance, safety requirements, and alignment with approved plans.
  • Support quality-control processes, including punch lists, testing, inspections, and closeout documentation.
  • Promote compliance with site safety plans, environmental requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Assist with cost control by tracking budgets, commitments, invoices, labor, materials, and change-order pricing.
  • Coordinate work between subcontractors, vendors, field supervisors, and design teams to resolve conflicts and keep work progressing.
  • Help resolve field issues, design conflicts, constructability concerns, and unforeseen conditions.
  • Prepare project closeout materials such as as-built drawings, operations and maintenance manuals, warranties, training records, and final turnover packages.
