Job summary

AECOM Hunt is seeking a Construction Project Engineer to be based in Chicago, IL with other listed locations. The role begins Summer 2027, supporting the Project Management team with administration tasks and site coordination.

You will assist costs and scheduling to keep projects on time and budget, prepare submittals/RFIs, coordinate with trades, and maintain accurate project documentation through the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar discipline.
• Experience on a live construction site and coordinating with multiple trades.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Prior internship experience within the construction industry.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing construction administration tasks as part of the Project Management team.
• Preparing subcontractor reports to keep Supervisor and Client informed of progress.
• Participating in site visits and coordinating with the superintendent as required.
• Receiving, reviewing and submitting documents for approval (Submittals/ RFIs/ etc.).
• Assisting costs and scheduling to ensure project completion within budget and in conformance with contract.
• Working with document control and project management systems to keep information flow up-to-date.
• Attending meetings and reporting on project tasks as needed.
