Job summary

Staples Construction Company seeks a full-time Project Engineer for our Ventura, CA office. The ideal candidate will have 1 year of field experience and a degree in construction-related fields, with strong skills in contract administration, submittals, RFIs, and change orders.

You will coordinate between the jobsite, office, design team, and ownership, supporting scheduling, cost control, and quality assurance to keep projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or higher in a construction-related field.
• Experience managing submittals, RFIs, meeting minutes, and related project documents.
• Strong understanding of contract documents and project controls.
• Ability to collaborate with owners, architects, engineers and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the link between jobsite, office, design team, and project ownership.
• Perform contract administration support, tracking and document control.
• Lead submittal, RFI, and change order processes.
• Interpret drawings and specifications; develop subcontracts.
• Assist in quality control and cost control for the project.
• Track labor, materials and equipment; procure permits and ensure schedule adherence.
• Maintain CM software input, such as Procore, for submittals and documents.
• Participate in project close-out and meeting minutes.
