Job summary

Staples Construction Company is seeking an experienced Civil Estimator who may occasionally project manage small projects. The role focuses on earthwork and demolition estimates for private and public works in the Southern California area.

The ideal candidate will oversee bid development, cost forecasting, and coordination with project teams to ensure profitability and on-time delivery, while maintaining strong client relations and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent work experience in heavy civil construction.
• Minimum of three (3) years of progressive project experience in heavy civil environments.
• Minimum of five (5) years experience in paving, dirt, and grading in either private or public environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate project revenue and cost financial forecasting to ensure profitability.
• Coordinate with estimators and project controls to establish budget.
• Lead estimating efforts on civil projects to ensure a consistent bid-to-build process.
• Review civil bid schedule for private and public work and identify new bid opportunities.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to manage resources and meet project schedules.
