Job summary

SunWest Builders is seeking a Project Engineer to support the Project Manager and Superintendent in coordination for field and office projects. You will act on behalf of the Project Manager when needed and may manage smaller projects independently.

The role emphasizes reading drawings, bid analysis, scheduling, document control, and ensuring safety on job sites, with a strong teamwork focus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering or 5 years equivalent experience.
• Read and understand construction drawings and specs.
• Strong written and verbal communication with listening skills.
• Proficiency in Procore, MS Project, Sage, Bluebeam, and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform material quantity take-offs and estimating.
• Assist Project Managers with subcontractor bid solicitation and bid analysis.
• Understand subcontract agreements, scope of work, and schedule.
• Manage contract drawing disbursement with subcontractors.
• Assist with material procurement and inspection of deliveries.
• Maintain document control (RFI, Submittal, Minutes).
• Assist with updating project schedule and approving vendor invoices.
• Support Change Order management and submittal reviews.
