Job summary

The Christman Company invites undergraduate students to join its Summer Internship Program as Assistant Project Engineer Interns. You will gain hands‑on experience in project planning and construction, supporting the project team with administrative and technical tasks across multiple markets.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a degree in civil engineering or construction management with a minimum 3.0 GPA and prior internship exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Active, full‑time Sophomore–Senior level student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.

Responsibilities

• Provides administrative and technical support to the project team.
• Assists with RFI, document control and management, creation and tracking of submittals, cost tracking, and schedule updates.
• Assist in summarizing important discussions, questions, and decisions raised during regular project team meetings, owner meetings, and weekly subcontractor meetings.
• Reads through and understands specification books to ensure compliance and project quality.
• Assist the Project Manager with identifying necessary inspections, create project‑specific inspection log, schedule inspections, and ensure readiness for inspection.
• Assist in updating contract drawings to reflect all approved changes and ensure trade contractor document updates.
• Assist Superintendents with daily reports and manage progress and quality photos.
• Model safety awareness and planning, and report any concerns to the Project Superintendent or Project Manager.
• Supports the logistics process for all safety initiatives listed in the site‑specific safety plan.
