Job summary

The Christman Company in Lansing, MI is seeking Assistant Project Engineer Interns for the upcoming Summer Internship Program. This internship provides hands-on experience in civil construction, RFI handling, document control, and field coordination alongside project managers and superintendents.

Applicants must be undergrad sophomores to seniors pursuing a degree in civil engineering or construction management with a minimum 3.0 GPA and prior construction internship experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Active, full-time Sophomore–Senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and technical support to the project team.
• Assist with RFIs, document control, submittals, cost tracking, and schedule updates.
• Summarize discussions from project meetings and owner meetings.
• Read specification books to ensure compliance and quality.
• Assist in coordinating inspections and updating inspection logs.
• Update contract drawings with approved changes and ensure document updates.
• Assist with daily reports and manage progress and quality photos.
• Support safety planning and site safety initiatives.
• Contribute to logistics for safety initiatives.
