The Weitz Company in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Project Engineer I/II to support preconstruction through closeout on assigned projects. You will monitor schedules, budgets, review drawings and submittals, and coordinate with the project team.

A industry-related degree and 2+ years of construction project management are preferred; OSHA 30 is a plus. You’ll work in a collaborative environment with growth opportunities and travel as needed.

Competenze

• Industry-related degree required.
• Minimum of two years of construction project management experience preferred.
• LEAN principles experience desirable.
• OSHA 30 preferred, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Industrial construction experience preferred.

Mansioni

• Organize, review, update, maintain, and post construction documents/drawings.
• Collaborate with project team to complete RFIs.
• Review submittals and other project documents for accuracy against plans and specifications.
• Assist in inspections, compliance audits, and the non-conformance log.
• Manage material and equipment delivery status; maintain and distribute accurate project logs.
• Draft scopes of work for subcontracts and/or purchase orders.
• Track subcontractor change requests and draft change orders within delegated authority.
• Utilize virtual design tools to assist with project coordination.
• Obtain and manage closeout information, gather punch list items, and assist with warranty processes.
• Travel and/or relocate to specified work assignments as needed.
