Job summary

Cherokee-Millwright, Inc. in Tennessee is seeking a Project Engineer to join the Operations team. This role reports to the Project Manager and is NON-EXEMPT under FLSA, with responsibilities across project execution, coordination with foremen, architects, and subcontractors, and documentation control.

You will assist with managing project needs, prepare reports, perform material takeoffs, and help ensure safety and compliance while supporting field operations across various job sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or 2 years’ related experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task, stay organized, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility and adaptability in utilizing a wide range of computer software.
• Engineer-in-training certification, Journeyman license, and field experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional, first-class customer service.
• Assist with the execution and management of project needs.
• Prepare and present computer-generated spreadsheets and reports.
• Maintain regular communication and collaboration with project team and stakeholders.
• Generate, maintain, and facilitate project documentation for all project phases.
• Perform material take offs from drawings to help generate estimates and changes.
• Demonstrate attention to detail, efficiency, and integrity in all aspects of the work.
• Attend and conduct meetings; comply with safety programs.
• Other duties may be assigned as specific projects dictate.
