Job summary

Cherokee-Millwright,-Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer in the Operations department to support project execution and documentation in a non-design role. The position reports to the Project Manager and requires coordinating with foremen, general contractors, architects/engineers, and subcontractors.

The role emphasizes accuracy, communication, and flexibility across multiple job sites, with regular meetings and adherence to safety policies. A bachelor’s degree or related experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or 2 years of related experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Engineer-in-training certification or journeyman license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional, first-class customer service.
• Assist with the execution and management of project needs.
• Prepare and present computer-generated spreadsheets and reports.
• Maintain regular communication and collaboration with entire project team, including Project Foreman, Project Manager, General Contractor, Architect/Engineer, and other subcontractors.
• Generate, maintain, and facilitate project documentation in the execution of the construction processes for all phases of the project.
• Perform material take offs from drawings to help generate estimates and changes.
• Demonstrate attention to detail, efficiency, and integrity in all aspects of the work.
• Maintain flexibility with assigned work environment and assigned project locations.
• Attend and conduct meetings as required.
• Comply with all company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs as established.
• Other duties may be assigned as specific projects dictate.
• Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supporting the Project Superintendent and Project Manager with day to day field operations such as material expediting, time keeping, RFI's, submittals, design team coordination, walking down the installed scope of work to confirm quantity's installed that will feed into the schedule and other reporting functions.
