I-5 Design Build is seeking a Construction Project Engineer to join our Lacey, WA office. This role acts as an Assistant Project Manager, coordinating design-build activities from preconstruction through closeout on fast-moving commercial projects.

The position is full-time, in-office with periodic travel. You will manage RFIs, submittals, drawings, and records using Procore, while supporting the Project Manager with schedules and field coordination.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience processing RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and change documentation.
• Working knowledge of Procore or comparable construction PM software.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam or a comparable document-review platform.

Responsabilités

• Process and track RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and related approvals.
• Maintain drawing logs, current construction sets, and project records in Procore.
• Review drawings to understand and communicate project scope.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors for pricing and information.
• Assist with subcontractor coordination, bids, purchase orders, and change documents.
• Track materials, long-lead items, deliveries, milestones, and action items.
• Support the Project Manager with schedules, look-aheads, and progress tracking.
• Prepare meeting notes and follow up on tasks.
• Support permitting, inspections, punch lists, warranties, and closeout records.
• Coordinate technical information across office, fabrication, and field teams.
• Visit project sites to document conditions and progress.
