Job summary

I-5 Design Build in Lacey, WA is seeking a Construction Project Engineer to support design‑build projects from preconstruction through closeout. This office‑based role reports to a Project Manager and focuses on coordinating drawings, RFIs, submittals, and documentation to keep projects moving smoothly.

You will review architectural and construction drawings, track submittals, manage Procore and Bluebeam workflows, and assist with schedules, procurement, and field coordination.

Qualifications

• Two+ years in construction project engineering or related roles.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural/construction drawings.
• Experience coordinating RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings.
• Working knowledge of Procore or similar PM software.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam or equivalent document review tool.
• Strong written communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Process and track RFIs, submittals, shop drawings and related approvals.
• Maintain drawing logs, current construction sets, and project records in Procore.
• Review drawings to understand scope and communicate requirements.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors for pricing and info.
• Support schedules, look-aheads, and progress tracking with the PM.
• Prepare meeting notes and follow up on tasks; assist with permit activities.
