Job summary

Onni Group of Companies in Los Angeles is seeking a Project Engineer to manage construction documents and coordinate between project management and field teams, addressing design, procurement, schedule, and field issues. The role supports both preconstruction and construction phases, ensuring smooth project execution.

You will assist with takeoffs, budgeting, value engineering, vendor prequalification, and document control, while coordinating meetings and RFIs with various stakeholders to keep

Responsibilities

• Support all phases of construction projects, from preconstruction and estimating through coordination, execution, and closeout.
• Report to the Superintendent / Project Manager and work closely with Assistant Project Managers, Superintendents, field staff, subcontractors, design consultants, third parties, city officials, utility companies, and other Onni departments.
• Assist with quantity takeoffs, the buyout process, and preparing scopes of work
• Support cost estimating, budget development, and value engineering
• Research and prequalify vendors and subcontractors
• Manage document control for drawings, specifications, and supplemental information
• Coordinate and attend project meetings, and prepare and distribute meeting minutes
• Process RFIs and submittals using project management software
• Track material lead times and procurement status
