Qualifications

Responsibilities

Construction Project Engineer - Commercial Construction - Base Salary to 65k/year - Dallas, TX

Our client is a commercial construction company seeking a Construction Project Engineer to support building construction and renovation projects throughout the Dallas– Fort Worth area. This position coordinates project documentation, subcontractor activities, scheduling, estimating support, and construction administration from preconstruction through project closeout. The position involves regular travel to active construction sites throughout the Dallas– Fort Worth Metroplex, with occasional out-of-area project travel. Administrative work may initially be performed remotely when not required at project sites, with a transition to a primarily office-based schedule anticipated.

Responsibilities

• Support commercial construction projects from preconstruction and project startup through construction administration and closeout.
• Coordinate subcontractor onboarding, project documentation, construction schedules, and closeout packages.
• Maintain construction project records, document logs, and tracking reports using Microsoft Excel and construction management software.
• Review architectural drawings, structural drawings, blueprints, construction specifications, contracts, and project schedules.
• Prepare, track, and coordinate requests for information (RFIs), submittals, contract documentation, and project correspondence.
• Assist estimating teams with bid documentation, subcontractor proposals, scope reviews, and preconstruction coordination.
• Support project planning, construction scheduling, permitting, and coordination of subcontractor activities.
• Assist Project Managers with construction cost tracking, budget reviews, change orders, and project revisions.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Estimators, Superintendents, subcontractors, and project stakeholders throughout construction.
• Track project progress, construction documentation, and outstanding action items through project completion.
• Coordinate project site visits and construction-related activities throughout assigned project locations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial construction experience, including construction project coordination, project engineering, or construction management activities.
• Experience reviewing and interpreting construction blueprints, plans, specifications, and project schedules.
• Experience or education involving architectural and structural construction drawings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for construction documentation, tracking, and reporting.
• Experience supporting commercial construction project documentation, scheduling, or coordination activities.
• Ability to work at construction project sites throughout the Dallas– Fort Worth Metroplex and transition to a primarily office-based schedule as required.
• Ability to travel to project locations, including occasional out-of-area travel of approximately 2– 3 days per month.
• Ability to satisfy job-related security screening requirements in accordance with applicable laws and client site access requirements.
• Ability to meet company driving and vehicle insurance eligibility requirements in accordance with applicable laws.

Compensation

• Base salary in the 60k - 65k/year range
