Job Summary

Under the direction of the Project Manager, the Project Engineer assists the project team in meeting deadlines while building a quality product efficiently and cost-effectively. The Project Engineer manages company software for project management, estimating, and scheduling, and provides technical and administrative support to meet corporate objectives.

Responsibilities and Duties

1. Assist in preparing and updating project schedules, including those for subcontractors and material deliveries.
2. Support pre-construction activities such as take-offs, bid solicitation, review, subcontractor negotiations, and final project budget assembly.
3. Help maintain the project schedule by monitoring progress, coordinating activities, and resolving issues.
4. Prioritize tasks to ensure smooth project flow; oversee tasks assigned to employees and subcontractors.
5. Assist with reviewing and processing monthly payment applications.
6. Review and update specification manuals for each project.
7. Prepare project status reports by analyzing and summarizing information and trends, and recommending actions.
8. Create close-out manuals for owners and property management.

Working Conditions: Main office located in Charlottesville, VA.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in construction science, management, engineering, architecture, or related field.
• Minimum of three years' experience in the construction industry.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software.
• Exceptional communication, computer, and organizational skills are required.
