Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a Travel Project Accountant to coordinate all phases of the construction job costing process for a large project and several smaller ones. You will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure timely, accurate accounting and risk management throughout the project lifecycle.

The role involves compiling billings, analyzing costs versus budget, processing payables, and maintaining project statuses in COINs, with emphasis on accuracy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience preferred.
• 3-5 years of project accounting experience preferred.
• Strong accounting knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Compiles, prepares and analyzes monthly project billings per contract requirements.
• Performs financial analysis and reconciliation of project costs versus project budget.
• Processes project accounts payable and subcontracts payable.
• Manages vendor compliance, insurance, lien waivers, retention and W-9s.
• Produces and analyzes job performance and profitability through jobs cost tracking reports.
• Assists in preparation of status reports and maintains accurate project statuses and budget information in COINs.
• Identifies and resolves basic and more complex project related accounting issues and resolves in a timely manner.
