Job summary

James McHugh Construction Co. seeks an Assistant Project Manager to provide administrative and technical direction for a single project. You may handle document control, pricing requests, change orders, and subcontractor coordination, reporting to the Senior/Project Manager.

As part of Operations, you will work with the project team, review RFIs, monitor schedules, and ensure safety and quality requirements are met on site.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential.
• Business‑oriented mindset with project focus.

Responsibilities

• Work independently under the direction of the Project Manager.
• Review RFIs and submittals, and maintain submittal status reports.
• Create and update cost summaries and track project costs.
• Review and approve subcontractor invoices and manage change orders.
• Support schedule updates and look‑ahead planning with the team.
• Coordinate trades, shop drawings, procurement logs and on‑site checklists.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, bond, and insurance requirements.
