Job summary

James McHugh Construction Co. is seeking a Project Engineer to assist in managing project documentation, RFIs, submittals, and ASIs/Construction Change Directives. You will report to the Project Manager and work with the Operations Department on coordinating with the project team and subcontractors.

The role emphasizes document control, schedule updates, and ensuring high-quality project execution while maintaining clear external and internal communications across departments.

Qualifications

• A 4-year degree (engineering, construction management or related construction degree).
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Detail oriented with problem-solving ability.
• Experience with computer software products and project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Draft and track RFIs and submittals to Architect/Owner for review and approval.
• Maintain revisions log of contract documents and ensure up-to-date drawings/specifications.
• Manage project record keeping and document control.
• Coordinate work with project superintendent and subcontractors.
• Communicate with internal departments to ensure clear information flow.
• Promote safe working standards and high quality on projects.
• Represent the project team in communications with stakeholders.
