What You Will Do
Project Handover & Document Review
- Take over awarded jobs from estimating and review estimates, plans, and site instructions.
- Compare the quote against each set of drawings and flag mismatches, such as specified fixtures that differ from what was quoted or were discontinued.
- Raise questions early when something looks off, and follow up until it is resolved.
Submittals & Contractor Communication
- Make sure approved changes show up in the shop drawings and other documents sent to the general contractor.
- Keep the general contractor informed of changes once they have been cleared internally.
Reporting & Field Coordination
- Collect site updates from field management and turn them into structured reports for upper management and ownership.
- Help schedule meetings and keep track of where field staff are supposed to be.
- Work through requests from project managers and site supervisors so the work is ready for them first thing in the morning.
Multi-Project Support
- Manage several active projects (two to four or more) at the same time.
- Support the estimating team with minor estimating tasks when needed.
Qualifications & Skills
Required Qualifications
- Project coordination experience in the construction trades, ideally mechanical contracting, plumbing, or sheet metal. Coordination experience from outside the trades only (software, for example) does not qualify.
- Able to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, estimates, and site instructions.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- A high level of attention to detail when spotting differences between quotes, drawings, and specifications.
- Proactive approach: you work independently and flag issues without needing direction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some estimating experience in mechanical or plumbing work.
- Experience preparing or reviewing shop drawings and submittals for general contractors.
