Job description

Armand Corporation, an award-winning M/WBE Construction Management firm celebrating over 33 years in the industry, is seeking a full-time Construction Project Controls Managerfor a federal construction project related to complex rail, transit, and other transportation projects in NY & NJ.

The ideal candidate has at least15years of full-time experiencein managingelements of cost, schedule, and risk on large programs for construction projects, as well as aBachelor's Degreefrom an accredited college or university with a major in Construction, Engineering, Business Management, or related field.

This position will be full-time, on-site. Candidates are expected to live in or near theNew York metropolitan area.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance, direction, and specialized assistance to project for the resolution of difficult and complex project control problems.
  • Interfaces with clients, attends regular meetings, and provides statistical reports.
  • Potential to manage a team of Project Control Engineers/Specialists who are qualified to analyze, evaluate, and forecast project costs, as well as performance against an established schedule with critical milestones.
  • Assesses the impact(s) of design/construction changes and schedule slippages.
  • Oversees the development and maintenance of an established system to show the hierarchy of plans and schedules; keeps project and company management fully informed.
  • Coordinates staffing requirements, assigns and supervises project work activities, and trains personnel.
  • Completes performance reviews and provides personnel development for the assigned employees.
  • Recommends and oversees the customization of project control systems to meet specific project requirements.
  • Creates statistical reports for management on a recurring or one-of-a-kind basis.
  • Participates in business development efforts by gathering and presenting a variety of background data. May be required to make informal or formal presentations.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction, Engineering, Business Management, or related required, advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of15 years of experience in the field of construction management and project controls for large scale civil construction projects.
  • Experience overseeing all elements of cost, schedule, risk, change orders, reporting in Project Controls on large construction programs.
  • Experience being involved in cost, schedule, change, risk, and reporting in a construction setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial modeling, cash flow tracking, and projections.
  • Experience with P6 construction scheduling software and schedule development and analysis.
  • Prior experience with rail, tunnel, structural, station, or soil, is preferred.
  • Ability to pass a TWIC and/or SWAC Background Check at High Level.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
