Job summary

WSP is seeking an organized, analytical Deputy Project Manager for our Seattle, WA office to support the financial management and operational delivery of our Construction Management practice.

This role will oversee budgets, forecasts, invoicing, and contract administration across multiple active assignments, coordinating with project managers, resident engineers, and accounting staff to keep projects on budget and audit-ready.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CM/Engineering/Business/Finance/Accounting.
• 5+ years of experience supporting project financials, controls, PM, or CM programs.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, and financial reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience preparing executive-level reports and dashboards.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Monitor budgets, labor utilization, and contract performance across multiple assignments.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, forecasts, and project performance summaries.
• Support managers with revenue projections, backlog tracking, and resource forecasting.
• Review labor charges, consultant invoices, reimbursable expenses, and project expenditures for accuracy.
• Assist with budget development, task order tracking, and contract modifications.
• Identify budget risks and recommend corrective actions before impacts occur.
• Develop and maintain project dashboards for leadership, PMs, and clients.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual project status reports.
• Track KPIs including budget, schedule, staffing, utilization, invoicing, and collections.
• Support development of executive-level reporting for operations and portfolio management.
• Analyze project trends and provide recommendations to improve performance and profitability.
• Coordinate with project managers, resident engineers, inspectors, and accounting staff.
• Assist with staffing plans, workload forecasting, and resource management.
• Support proposal development and project startup activities.
• Facilitate coordination between project teams and corporate support functions.
• Help standardize project management processes across CM practice.
• Adhere to WSP Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required.
