Job summary

WSP is seeking a Deputy Project Manager in Seattle to support the financial management and operational delivery of our Construction Management practice. You will help project managers maintain budget control, forecast resources, and ensure project profitability across multiple assignments.

The role entails preparing client reports, supporting invoicing, monitoring financial health, and maintaining audit-ready project records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting project financials, project controls, project management, or construction management programs.
• Strong understanding of project budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, and financial reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience preparing executive-level reports and dashboards.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Monitor project budgets, labor utilization, and contract performance across multiple construction management assignments.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, forecasts, and project performance summaries.
• Support project managers with earned revenue projections, backlog tracking, and resource forecasting.
• Review labor charges, consultant invoices, reimbursable expenses, and project expenditures for accuracy.
• Assist with budget development, task order tracking, and contract modifications.
• Identify budget risks and recommend corrective actions before impacts occur.
• Develop and maintain project dashboards for executive leadership, project managers, and clients.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual project status reports.
• Track key performance indicators including budget, schedule, staffing, utilization, invoicing, and collections.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field
