Job summary

Align is seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to oversee financial management and accounting operations for data center projects. You will supervise project accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance while partnering with project management and leadership to drive profitability and financial integrity.

The role requires strong construction accounting experience, proficiency in Procore and Sage Intacct, and a track record of improving processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• 5-8+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Minimum 3 years of construction project accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP reporting, percentage-of-completion accounting, revenue recognition, retainage accounting, and construction draw processes.
• Advanced experience with Procore and Sage Intacct and/or Sage Construction Management.
• Experience supporting monthly close and financial statement preparation.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Controller with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements, supporting schedules, and management reporting packages.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and internal controls across accounting policies.
• Support external audits, tax filings, and lender reporting requirements.
• Oversee accounting activities for multiple active construction projects.
• Review subcontractor invoices, payment applications, lien waivers, retainage, and compliance documentation.
• Develop standardized reporting and dashboards for project financial performance.
• Mentor junior team members and foster cross-functional collaboration.
