Job summary

CivicMinds, Inc is seeking an experienced Controller to lead its accounting and financial functions within a construction services context. This role reports to the President and sits on the executive management team.

The Controller will oversee budgeting, audit coordination, and strategic planning, partnering with project managers and operations to ensure accurate job costing and financial reporting. Strong leadership and GAAP expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; Master’s preferred.
• CPA strongly preferred; 5+ years of accounting experience, including construction/job-cost accounting.
• Proven construction accounting and administration experience; GAAP and financial reporting expertise.
• Expert-level Timberline/Sage 300 and Procore proficiency; ability to lead audits.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting, financial planning, reporting, budgeting, and GAAP compliance.
• Oversee monthly close, financial statements, consolidations, cash flow, AP/AR, tax coordination.
• Manage job costing, WIP schedules, project billing, collections, and project financial reporting.
• Oversee IT systems, Timberline/Sage 300 and Procore support; lead audits and risk reviews.
• Develop internal controls, policies, and financial procedures; manage external partners.
