Job summary

JE Dunn Construction in Tempe is seeking a Project Accountant to perform basic to intermediate accounting duties for assigned projects, including transactional accounting, invoicing, and financial reporting to support the operations team. You will prepare cost analyses, manage owner billings, review pay applications, and assist with month-end reconciliations and audits.

Strong Excel and ERP skills, plus construction knowledge, are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is required.
• 2+ years of accounting experience in construction or related field.
• Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel, and ERP/payments workflows.
• Experience with cost accounting and owner billing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, examine and analyze project cost accounting records and reports.
• Manage cost transfers to accurately record job costs.
• Assist project team with KPIs interpretation.
• Prepare owner billing monthly, interim, or milestone per contract.
• Review and compile back-up for owner billings.
• Oversee trade partner pay applications and check billings for accuracy.
• Support month-end reconciliations and unbilled reports.
• Provide analysis on project status and performance as needed.
• Assist in project audits and final close when costs are billed and collected.
