Job summary

BLVD Electric Inc. is seeking a Construction Accountant to support project accounting, payroll coordination, reconciliations, and financial reporting for multiple active projects in Southern California.

This role works with leadership, project managers, and office teams to maintain accurate records and meet deadlines. The position is typically in-office, with reliable commuting, and offers $20-$30/hour along with benefits such as health insurance, 401(k) with matching, paid time off, and

Qualifications

• Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or project accounting; construction experience preferred
• Understanding of job costing, construction billing, retention, change orders, and AP/AR
• Knowledge of lien releases and preliminary notices; AIA billing and certified payroll experience preferred
• Proficiency with Excel; QuickBooks and construction-accounting software experience preferred
• Attention to detail, organization, communication, and ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Accounting-related degree preferred but not required; bilingual English and Spanish a plus

Responsibilities

• Handle project closeout accounting, final billing, retention collection, and reconciliation of outstanding commitments
• Review payroll information, including employee hours, wage rates, reimbursements, and project allocations
• Assist with certified payroll, prevailing-wage documentation, and labor-compliance reporting when applicable
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, vendor accounts, and general-ledger balances
• Prepare journal entries and support month-end and year-end closing, financial reports, audits, and tax documentation
• Maintain organized billing logs, collection reports, and project financial records while protecting confidential information
• Communicate with project teams, vendors, and general contractors regarding payments, discrepancies, and supporting documentation
• Help improve accounting procedures, reporting accuracy, and financial controls
