Job summary

Rockford Construction, based in Grand Rapids, MI, seeks a Project Accountant to support accounting operations for assigned construction projects. You'll focus on pay applications, AP/AR, and project-related financial processes, collaborating with project teams and management to ensure accurate reporting and timely payments.

The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, with strong communication skills and a basic understanding of accounting principles.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting or 3+ years of accounting experience (Bachelor's degree preferred).
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience with ERP systems; Acumatica a plus.
• Experience with Procore project management software a plus.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly owner pay applications.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Maintain and adjust project budgets and change orders.
• Enter and review trade contractor invoices and lien waivers.
• Monitor project receivables and collections.
• Assist with month-end close and audit preparations.
