Job summary

Roers Companies, headquartered in Plymouth, Minnesota, is seeking a Construction Project Accountant to manage accounting for construction projects and coordinate with Project Managers and vendors to ensure accurate, timely financial records. The role emphasizes pay applications, billings, and collaboration across teams.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, strong GAAP knowledge, and experience with month-end close and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and the accounting implications of lease and equipment transactions.
• Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Prior auditing experience and ability to lead teams through audit/tax season.
• Construction or real estate accounting experience preferred; Viewpoint Vista and Procore preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities for assigned construction projects.
• Review and maintain accurate project budgets, costs, commitments, and forecasts.
• Record and review project-related expenses with proper coding.
• Monitor project costs and identify unusual or potentially incorrect transactions.
• Reconcile project costs and general ledger accounts regularly.
• Assist Project Managers with understanding project financial information.
• Review commitments, purchase orders, subcontractor costs, and change orders for accuracy.
