Job summary

Roers Companies seeks a Construction Project Accountant to manage the accounting for designated construction projects and coordinate with project managers, developers, and vendors to ensure accurate and timely financial data.

The role involves budgeting, cost tracking, monthly billings, pay applications, and month-end close, with emphasis on accuracy, reporting, and collaboration across Accounting, Development, Construction, and Operations teams.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience managing month-end close and internal controls.
• Construction or real estate accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with audits and leading audit/tax season.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities for assigned construction projects.
• Review and maintain project budgets, costs, commitments, and forecasts.
• Record and review project-related expenses with correct coding.
• Reconcile project costs and GL accounts on a regular basis.
• Assist Project Managers with financial information and questions.
• Review commitments, purchase orders, and change orders for accuracy.
