Job summary

Gilbane is seeking a mid-level Project Accountant to handle project accounting and forecasting for small to mid-sized projects. Expect office-based work with travel to job sites and coordination with project teams and subcontractors.

You will support budgeting, cost control, and financial closeout while engaging with management, clients, and field staff to ensure accurate forecasts and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• 0-8 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost control, schedule, anticipated cost and project profitability.

Responsibilities

• Manage contracts, amendments, insurance, bonds, SOV, files, and co-policies.
• Review requisitions and lien waivers for timeliness and accuracy.
• Set up and format project financial forecasts for internal and client reporting.
• Lead monthly project forecast meetings and maintain ETCs for labor and expenses.
• Ensure timely management of accounts receivable and payables.
• Oversee project financial closeout and reporting processes.
• Build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist with contract abstracts and audits as directed.
• Review WIP and explain variances and balances.
