Job summary

Staxmatic is a fast-growing mechanical and plumbing contractor serving large-scale commercial projects across healthcare, education, and high-rise developments. This Project Accountant role ensures accurate job costs, billing, and financial reporting in a fast-paced construction environment.

You will partner with the Controller and project teams to manage AP/AR, budgets, invoices, change orders, and month-end close, while maintaining organized records and supporting internal audits.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Accounting or related field preferred
• Construction industry accounting experience a plus
• Experience with AP/AR cycles and general ledger processes

Responsibilities

• Manage project budgets and track expenses to align with financial plans
• Prepare and process project invoices, purchase orders, and change orders
• Reconcile costs for labor, materials, and subcontractors; support forecasting and reporting
• Maintain organized financial records and assist with audits and month-end close
• Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and accounting team to ensure accurate project accounting
