Job summary

STO Building Group is seeking a Project Accountant I to oversee financial activity on select construction projects, including budgeting, cost reporting, and collaboration with project teams. The role reports to the Director of Shared Service Project Accounting and supports operational reporting to the Business Unit Project Accounting Manager.

Key duties include reviewing budget vs actuals, developing cost-to-completion forecasts, handling change orders, and ensuring proper revenue recognition

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• Experience in project accounting or construction accounting is a plus.
• Strong analytical and financial reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial activity on select construction projects.
• Prepare, review and report on budgeted vs actual costs.
• Support project teams to develop Cost to Completion forecasts and billing projections.
• Monitor change orders and related budgets and project costs.
• Review and post subcontractor monthly progress billings and payments.
• Maintain billing formats (G702, G703) and prepare client requisitions.
