Job summary

Express Employment Professionals - Cincinnati East seeks an experienced accounting professional to manage daily financial operations in Morris Plains, New Jersey.

You will maintain ledgers, process AP/AR, and support month‑end closings to ensure accurate reporting for project profitability.A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and 5–10 years of accounting experience (construction, HVAC or contracting preferred) are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 5–10 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction, HVAC, or contracting industries.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Knowledge of job costing, project accounting, and construction billing preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Maintain the general ledger and prepare journal entries.
• Complete bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closings.
• Track project costs and job profitability.
• Prepare financial reports for management.
• Utilize QuickBooks for accounting and financial recordkeeping.
• Support audits, tax preparation, and compliance requirements.
