Express Employment Professionals - Cincinnati East is seeking a detail-driven Accountant to support growing operations in the Southwest Twin Cities Metro area, MN. The role focuses on construction accounting, project billing, cost tracking, and coordination with internal teams.

The ideal candidate will be organized, capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and comfortable working with project managers, customers, and auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field optional.
• 2+ years accounting experience in construction/trades preferred.
• Experience with job costing, project billing, and contract review.
• Familiar with AIA billing, certified payroll, and prevailing wage a plus.
• Proficient in QuickBooks, Sage, or Viewpoint; Excel skills required.
• Strong communication and time-management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project billing and coordination, including progress billings.
• Communicate with project managers and customers for timely billing and closeout.
• Perform job and equipment costing for labor, materials, and usage.
• Handle accounts payable/receivable and code invoices.
• Review city/residential contracts and manage complex billing elements.
• Manage sales and income tax reporting and assist audits.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and monthly financial reporting.
• Prepare payroll reports and ensure prevailing wage compliance.
• Maintain audit-ready job files and support WIP tracking and month-end close.
